“Barco de Arena” is the sequel to “De paseo”. It may be considered as the 2nd act of the same play. In it we find the desire to turn contemporary dance (usually meant for an initiated crowd) into a show for every audience, with quality, funny, simple, generous.
We find again:
- The same character evolving against a backdrop of sadness, willing to joy, willing to share her universe, her loneliness, her humour, her doubts, her tenderness, her clumsiness...
- ... and the use of an object as a central element, as a support, for develop a specific coreographic work around herself. And this object - a bridge that becomes a ship - evokes images that everybody can recognise, about familiar situations , that allows the audience could get into a "script", that is not narrative, in a way more easily. A script made of gestures, glances, emotions, and situations more or less incongruous. It's all about learning about this abstract language of Dance.
