Nº 10 - October 2006
Staff

A lot of very good things have been going on this summer: the resounding success of “Paseando con Arte” at the San Sebastian Festival; the company Anomalie presented by Free Art at the TAC in Valladolid won the Emilio Zapatero “ex aequo” prize; Pati Free was outstanding at the Malta Festival (Poland); the audience doubled in size at the second edition of “Calles de Circo” (Castellbisbal) and there was a fantastic welcome for the Australian Leaping Loonies during their three-and-half month tour of Europe.

The latest creation from Leandre, “Rodó”, produced by the Ateneu Popular of 9 Barris, won the Circus prize from the Generalitat of Catalonia’s Department of Culture. More than 4,000 people visited the first edition of Pati Free in Vitoria. The Circus is gaining ground in intelligent programming all over Spain, a good example of which is Umore Azoka in Leioa, a well-established festival that there’s no holding back…

We don’t want to wallow in the past without focusing on the present, because we’ve got so many new things to tell you.

Happy Autumn!

Parade of the three kings 2007

Funky Love

The detail that makes the difference.

This itinerant dancer has the capacity to create “good vibes” wherever he goes. With the help of his giant “disco-hits” boogie-box on his shoulder and the innate rhythm of his body, his joy and good humour is contagious.

Company of the month: Dujoli Cirkus

An original combination of Theatre and Circus

Originality, quality and innovation are the three cornerstones of “Fin de siesta” a show that delighted everyone at Umore Azoka in Leioa.

Jörg Müller

The fish-man.

The first part of the show was impressive for its brilliance and imagination, but when we saw him getting into a giant test-tube full of water, we could hardly believe our eyes…but the best was yet to come: an unorthodox spectacle of underwater circus-dance which kept us open-mouthed until the end.

Bouldegom Theatre at the San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Festival

Interaction and fun.

Recently released from an old people's home, they infiltrate the lives of passers-by and, with the delightful curiosity of old people, transform the streets with their mischief, or simply remain seated on a bench watching the time pass by.

Rigolo Tandenzes Theater

Elegance and equilibrium from Switzerland

Rigolo defines itself as a modern Shaman. What certainly is true is that the senses go into a state of suspension during his mystic ecstasy, leaving nobody indifferent. The show combines the installation and manipulation of objects in conjunction with the force of gravity.

Free art “in dance ”

A top-level selection for programmers with good taste.

The dance pieces we have selected for you have tremendous character and, what is most important, they captivate every type of audience from beginning to end. Angika (India), Claire (France), Finita la Commedia (Hungary), Ziya Azazi (Turkey).

Zwoelie Troeiles are back!

And funnier than ever!

This hilarious female trio is back in the breach with a new repertoire and more pace than ever. Humour, songs and music go to make an unforgettable experience.
